2020 China (Shenzhen) IC Summit was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in OCT on October 30-31, 2020. The award for the innovative IC products in the opening ceremony of the “Chip Palace” organized by the National Chip Shenzhen Double Innovation Platform and Shenzhen Micro & Nano Institute was held at the summit. The dual-core motor control chip FU6861 developed by Fortior Technology was awarded in the event.
This IC Summit was hosted by the Shenzhen Government, the National “Core-High-Fundamental” Expert Group, and China Integrated Circuit Design Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and the co-organizers include Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission, Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Shenzhen, and Nanshan District Government of Shenzhen. With the theme of "New Era, Core Ecology" and the points of win-win innovation and development cooperation in the new era, the summit focuses on the IC design industry, exchanging the advanced technologies in chip manufacturing and packaging, exploring the innovative ecosystem, and promoting IC product innovation and application.
The summit invited about 1,000 domestic and overseas experts and scholars, technical experts and IC companies, to participate in this event and topics discussed include the key IC technologies, excellent IC products, and IC industrial ecological construction and development.
The director of the Application Department of Fortior Technology, John, was invited to attend the summit, and introduced Fortior’s "dual-core" motor control technology, and the chip developed with the technology was awarded in the event. Due to the technical barriers in high-performance motor control chips, the high-end market for such products has been taken by overseas manufacturers. Fortior Technology has been deeply involved in the field of high-performance and highly integrated motor drive control for decades, and has made great breakthroughs in the chip design and core algorithms for different applications. The company is one of the few high-end IC companies developed in China.
In his speech, John introduced the dual-core motor drive chip which integrates 8051 core and motor control engine (ME) developed by Fortior. This series of MCUs can solve the problems of sensorless control of PMSM, and can also reduce the costs in the new product development. The chip can thus be accepted and widely used in the market. It has a positive impact on the healthy development of domestic chips and has enlightenment for accelerating the development of domestic IC industry in China.
FU6861 is one of the more eye-catching products in this series. It integrates LDO and 6N pre-driver. It is suitable for power tools, vacuum cleaners with ultrahigh speed, garden tools and other applications requiring harshly on speed and reliability. At present, the most of these kinds of product are using the low-end sensor control solutions. FU6861 adopts a sensorless high torque control scheme, which can greatly improve the control experience, and are also energy saving and environmental protection. It has generated the effects driving the motor control chips and solutions from the low-end market to the high-end one in China.
